Applications are open twice per year, between:

Purpose
To support projects and activities that have a direct benefit to residents of the Manawatu region who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
Conditions
Applicants must demonstrate a clearly defined purpose and show how the grant's use will directly benefit residents of the Manawatu region who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
What does it cover?
Short-term projects, equipment and materials, capacity building, the development of innovative, imaginative and creative ideas, action-oriented research, provision of hearing checks and ear cleaning by a charity where government funding is not available, acquisition and dissemination of knowledge, collaboration between groups/individuals.
Please note: The Grants are to a maximum of $5,000.
What we do NOT fund:

International travel or international training;
-
Schools and educational centres, rest homes and hospitals, disaster relief organisations;

Groups and individuals whose main purpose is the promotion of a message rather than a service;

Buildings;
-
Land development;
-
Projects already completed;
-
Research except action-orientated research;
-
Lobbying of Government.
Businesses or Community Groups applications are required to:

be undertaking a project or activity that will directly benefit the residents of the Manawatu region who are Deaf or hard of hearing.

submit ALL supporting documents, along with a fully completed application form by the closing dates specified below, or your application will NOT be considered.
Supporting documents required:

Please ensure you upload costs, quotes and invoices to support your application. If not uploaded correctly, your application may not be considered.

Copy of NZBN or Charities Registration Number.

A scanned copy of a pre-printed deposit slip or bank letter which includes the full bank account number (bank, branch, account number and suffix) and the account holder's name. Must be signed and stamped by the bank within the last 90 days. Please note you must go to a branch and have the bank staff print off and sign your deposit slip or bank letter. Failure to upload the correct bank documentation, may result in your application not being considered.

Proof of NZ citizenship or residency, in the form of a passport or birth certificate.

An audiogram or medical certificate relating to your hearing condition (if applicable).

Accountability report for ANY previous funding received from the NFD Trust (if applicable).

Minimum of TWO recent signed references (issued within the last 12 months) in support of applicant/s (requests by the applicant to email or phone the referees not accepted)
